Pausing at the last second of video/audio continues sound

Pausing at the last second of video/audio continues sound

Postby mkvfr34k » 23 Nov 2020 06:25

I'm new to VLC and there's this weird problem I have where whenever I pause at the very last second of a video or audio file, for some reason the audio keeps playing (In the case of videos, once I resume, the video continues with no audio), it's a weird sync problem. Is there a way to fix this?

This happens if all the remaining audio samples have already been buffered in the OS audio subsystem, and VLC has started the draining. There are no ways to pause in that state, at least not on some OS.

So... what does that mean?
