srt.style not working in VLC, but works in MPC-HC

Hello!
Yes, this is a platform independent issue.
I have a movie.mkv file... which is basically a music video. I have an movie.srt file. I have a movie.srt.style file.
The style is not picked up in vlc, but it does work in MPC-HC.
I don't know what I am doing wrong, if anything. Maybe, this should be a feature request.
