Playing MP3 files and Random setting.

I can't give an exact number, but I have a lot of MP3 files in the playlist.
I start VLC playing and hit the random button.
Random doesn't seem too random.
Say I have 50 songs. This will do for the example.
Though not the real names, this is an example of what is played:
Song 1
Song 3
Song 1
Song 3
Song 1
Song 30
Song 20
Song 1
Song 30
Song 20
Song 3
Song 2
Song 30
There is 50 songs. This is pretty poor for random.
