Refreshing whenever I leave the app and come back

Everytime I leave the app and come back, it has to refresh and it takes about 10-20secs. And I can't do anything till it's fine. It's a new update and I don't like it. I mean I get why, but I should be able to click on what I want while it's refreshing. I don't think this was present before.
