Problem with cover art

Been trying to fix this for days with no resolution:
So, I get voice mails sent to my email as .wav files. They all have the same name, "Voicemail sound attachment.wav". For reasons I cannot figure out, whenever I play those, the cover art is a jpeg that I had on my desktop awhile ago but no longer exists. I can download another image but it just works for that specific attachment, opening any other voice mail .wav file returns to using that image as the cover art. I've turned off allow metadata network access, changed the vlcrc file qt-bgcone=1 to 0, tried removing the entire roaming/vlc folder, tried uninstalling and reinstalling vlc including settings and data...but nothing stops that image from showing when I play any file with that name.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
