Opening a new video still stays minimized

Hi there! When I click a video, VLC opens and is the screen I see. However, when I minimize it and select a new video to play, VLC stays minimized and it does not pop up. I have to manually click the program on the bottom of my screen to open it. However, if I close the previous VLC player, then it opens fine. I remember before this was not the case. I have tinkered with different settings such as Allow only one instance etc, but it doesnt pop up.

Auto raising the interface option should do it, but it might be broken:

Oh interesting so other people have reported this issue too. I know before this was never the case, but now it is. I have uninstalled VLC and rebooted everything, tried those settings, but still no. I hope with future updates this will be fixed or addressed.

Please provide full information about your system, hardware, OS and VLC version.
