I'm not sure where to throw this question may be a little technical for this forum... but I have a bunch of movie files i'm using in VLC, I see the Audio is codec is AC3 3F2M (3 Front, 2 Mid - i'm guessing these are supposed to be for side speakers). I have a 5.1 surround setup and casting to it, but its more of a 3 front, 2 Rear setup. Will it route sound meant for the side speakers to the back, or will it ignore my rear speakers completely?

Is there a way to route sound meant to the side speakers to rear?
