Floating Controls / Menu

Pretty I posted this in the correct place... I do have vlc on windows but believe this is more of a general question, so posted it here.

I did a search in forums and online / google trying to find what I think there used to be in vlc, a floating controls / menu when you left click on the video you are watching or move your mouse, the controls would appear.... but now I actually seem to have to double click to access controls then have to double click back to get full screen which is just annoying bc sometimes I have to do this a bunch of times depending on what I am using vlc for. I could not find any options in preferences either to enable this feature (that I think used to exist - unless im going crazy)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the hard work making VLC available.. I have used it for many years as my main video / codec player.
