Using cd-text: disc artist is shown, track artist is not shown

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Using cd-text: disc artist is shown, track artist is not shown

Postby fwiep » 11 Apr 2020 21:47

Hello,

VLC 3.0.8 Vetinari, Debian 10 GNU/Linux, playing an audio-cd with cd-text.

In the playlist there are several columns available:
* Duration
* Artist
* Genre
* ...

The "Artist" column is filled with the "disc performer" field from the cd-text.

This is the (partial) output of the "cdinfo" command, showing the cd-text on the audio-disc.

Code: Select all

CD Analysis Report Language 0 'Dutch': CD-TEXT for Disc: TITLE: Pap's COOLE muziek #12 PERFORMER: Various Artists CD-TEXT for Track 1: TITLE: Sweet home Chicago PERFORMER: The Blues Brothers CD-TEXT for Track 2: TITLE: Days PERFORMER: The Kinks CD-TEXT for Track 3: TITLE: Das machen nur die Beine von Dolores PERFORMER: Gerhard Wendland CD-TEXT for Track 4: TITLE: One night PERFORMER: Mud CD-TEXT for Track 5: TITLE: Sebastian PERFORMER: Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel CD-TEXT for Track 6: TITLE: Er ist ein Kerl (der 30-Tonner Diesel) PERFORMER: Gunter Gabriël
I think it should show the "track performer" field, instead. Am I doing something wrong, or is there an option to change this behaviour?

Kind regards and thanks,
FWieP
