Windows user name and password not authenticateing

I have VLC for Fire TV installed and when I try to set it up is ask for my windows user name and password. Once I enter the information and click OK the screen turns blank and there is a turning circle to indicate it is working; however the turning circle never stops to log me in or give me any message. every time I repeat this operation the same thing happens. I would appreciate any help you can offer.
