Nikon P900 mov sound

Finally decided on buying a new camera and went for the Nikon Coolpix P900. It was released in 2015, so I expected everything to be stable. Pictures are no problem but playback of first movies almost made me panic.

Sound on VLC is a stuttering noise that hardly resembles the original sound. Got me the latest release of VLC to no avail. Then I discovered that the Windows 10 mediaplayer (version 12.0.17134.1067) has no trouble at all. Mediaplayer only says the audio stream is 1536kbps and sampled at 48 kHz. VLC says the audiocodec is 'sowt'. Looking further this would be an Apple Quicktime format.

Is there a fix for this ? It is ever so rare that I stumble on a media file that cannot be played by VLC.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

100 MB max should be enough.

Solved here when installing current nightly, here as Snap (vlc_3.0.8-308-g9488c3e_amd64.snap, vlc_4.0.0-dev-11620-ga93072befb_amd64.snap).
Before it was same (stutter in audio) here with different *.MOV-files from different digital cameras on different PCs with VLC provided in packeting and Snap for Ubuntu 18.04 and 19.10. Other codecs ok. Ok with other players. I hope fixed packet will be available in Ubuntu 20.04 because VLC is great stuff! Thanks for all that work!
No related bug report found but similar described in https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=152726 and https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=152023
IMHO log and file not necessary anymore, right?
