I just heard about VLC. Will it play Region 2 DVD's? PAL format DVD's?

Thanks in advance for any information that you can give me. :D

It does on my PC. [VLC 0.7.1, Windows ME with DirectX 8.1] I find the DVD functionality to be quite stable and reliable.
