what the best video format for one video stream with adsl connection with 200kbits/s of upstream?

Hello,

"mp4v" has the big advantage of working almost everywhere. It's not the most perfect choice for bandwidth efficiency, but is the most practical one

I assume you mean MPEG-4 ASP, eg XviD. I agree that is probably the best supported codec.
