Focus window (the moveable cropbox)

Forgive me if my question is naïve, but I’m brand new to VLC. I’m a pilot, and I record some of the things I do on my go Pro. One of my friends has a movable focus window where we can crop in on a specific flight instrument, and although I have this window within the window on windows 10 computer, I cannot seem to get the focus window to move off the right lower corner. Would appreciate some advice, Thank you. Tom
