Audio convert 24bit

Postby binwys » 05 Apr 2019 14:47

Hi,

I have a damaged .wav audio file (loss of electrical power) of a music concert (I recorded it in stereo, 24bit, 44.1kHz). The only software who plays the file nicely so far is VLC. Not even very professional software! I'm happy because I've succeeded to convert the file to a new .wav file with the "CD-audio" profile in the Convert&Stream window to a (probably truncated) 16bit audio file.

But I'm halfway.... How can I convert/repair to 24bit instead of 16bit (actually it is no conversion because the file is already 24bit)? In the Convert&Stream window, the Audio-codec tab speaks about bitrate only and not about bitdepth...

Thanks,

You can try to repair it using SoX with the following command:

Code: Select all

sox --ignore-length corrupted.wav fixed.wav
