Win7 64bit, VLC BlueRay Playback

Hi everyone.

I've downloaded the prerequisite 'Libaacs' and unzipped it but, there are no instructions or directions as to where or what to do. The downloaded codec folders don't contain any 'exe' either so, I've no idea how to install these files.

I unzipped and then pasted the Libaacs folder and its contents into the VLC root directory but alas, still displays the usual error message when I try playing a BlueRay. Clearly, they need to be installed 'somehow' but, without any instructions or an auto-install exe, I haven't a clue.

Help from those who know how this is done would be much appreciated.
I looked through the forums with obvious keywords in the search but, to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

Using libaacs is tricky. You should use makemkv.

From search results on the internet, that appears to be 'copying' software. I want to PLAY not copy/rip the disk contents. I have a BlueRay player in my laptop and want to use VLC instead of letting Win Media Player install with all of its associated 'bloat.

No, you can use it as passthrough: see https://gitlab.com/garfvl/vlc-bluray
