Converted video has no sound outside VLC

Hello,
I'm using VLC to convert videos to MP4 (H.264+MP3) but I've hit a stumbling block; the converted videos play just fine within VLC, but in any other player (QuickTime, iTunes, Windows Media Player all tested) they have no sound. I guess I must not be encoding the audio correctly, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can anybody help with troubleshooting?

Hi, can you post the log of the playback in VLC?
To help you, we need messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure before you start the playback to:
  1. Open: Tools -> Messages.
  2. Set Verbosity to 2
  3. Start playback to reproduce your issue
  4. Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
  5. Then paste the full resulting log here between [code]and[/code] (or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)
Also don't forget to name your Operating System and provide the VLC media player version.

Also please upload a short sample of a problematic file to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=57724&p=193335#p193335
50 MB max should be enough.
