Can not deleate a movie ? Help

When I Right click on a movie file and VLC a very thin long box shows up with arrows in it if I click on an aerrow , another thin box shows up with nothing in it you can’t get it to open wider how can I delete movies now I tried to restore the computer in earlier date and it’s still not helping I deleted the program and re-loaded it and still have the same problem
