Is anyone else getting AEC3 to play in dolby surround sound on receiver?

I for the life of me can't get a dolby 5.1 to play on my receiver with this AEC3 format. Im stumped. Anyone else having any success, Ive read the other thread and that is the issue im having too but found no solution. I am using HDMI out for several years with no problems playing 5.1 with every mkv I have ever played.

Seriously??? No one? Every single video in AEC3 format is playing in stereo. This is a new format from Amazon, and since it came out it has never worked for me. I have been using hdmi out with vlc for 3 years now with everything running perfect. Why is this happening to just me. My receiver is Onkyo TSXR 606 and supports it.

You need VLC 3.0.3 on Windows and activate the passthrough for all codecs.
