Connecting to IP Camera causes demux error

Hello,

I have a generic Chinese IP camera that allows me to see video from inside IE only using an ActiveX component. I want to stream it to VLC. There are no manuals / info about the camera (standard day/night white IP camera).

In the browser source code, I found this:

rtsp://192.168.1.16:554/user=admin&password=&channel=1&sctream=0.sdp?real_stream--rtp-caching=100

I tried this string in VLC, it did not work.

I then used Wireshark and saw that when video starts, we have this:
rtsp://192.168.1.16:34567/user=admin&password=&channel=1%stream=0.sdp/RTSP/1.0

I tried this in VLC and it did not work too.

Here is the log from these two attempts. Can someone please help me figure out the right RTSP string? What is missing here?

FYI: I know camera is working because I can see the video images from inside the activeX component when log via IE to the camera at 192.168.0.16 as well as I can get still frames by doing http://192.168.1.16/webcapture.jpg?comm ... p&chanel=1

Why is the string not working in VLC?

Would love some help resolving this. Completely stuck here.

What I noticed:

no port 554
port 80, 9530, and 34567 are the only ones accessible.

The logs pretty much tells the server is not responding. If you are sure that that's not the case, check Wireshark

Thank you for your reply. I checked with Wireshark - IP camera is responding...

What really bothers me is that is has port 34567, 80 and 9530 open...but I cannot find 554... It is your standard IP Camera from China. There is no brand on it, but I think it is something close to XM/JUFENG because one of the ports is 34567 and because mode number is has XM in it:TV-699-IDE-XMW...

Whatever service runs on 34567 does not seem to be RTSP, or then it's crashing immediately.

Hi,

I am reading threads on this forum since I have alike problem.

I have China made wifi camera ( ip camera) and it works fine if connected to from Android tab let, Guard app from Google Play market.

But I would like to use it on PC (win32 xp) via rtsp

None technical specification is provided ( this is hd camera).
There is a large number of so called ONVIF wifi cameras on internet auction sites but technical specification is missing.

So I can buy any wifi camera which supports rtsp under win32 xp, if advised by you, since manufacturers of wifi cameras don't support developers in general.
All you get is a camera + name of an application to download to make your camera to work.
