Converting a MP4 file

Very new to this forum so sorry if i'm not clear enough.
So there's this television of Technika that i have here in a vacation cottage. Sadly i can't find any model number on it. However i did manage to find some sheet online http://ttselectrical.custhelp.com/ci/fa ... 16-912.pdf
I sadly can't use images on this site.
Now the problem with this television is that whenever i put a usb in it, it doesn't read any movie. I have around 6 movies on this usb of which they're all mp4 files. The error that s given: File format not supported. Or something similar.
I thought that i should try changing to the mp4 files. Converting them. This proved to be more hard however. On page 28/29 of the previous link i showed, you can find a list of supported formats. In this list mp4 files are not included. Now i tried converting the mp4 file to many things but the television never manages to read them anyway. Audio isn't a problem sometimes but video is. THe closest i got to getting a working converted file was converting the mp4 file to a video - dirac + MP3 (TS) profile. And then changing the video codec to MPEG4. What i get is a working audio but the video is completely distorted and unwatcheable. I'm not very smart at these file types so i don't really know what to do. I tried researching it a bit but that didn't really get me any results too. Now this distortion is visible on the television but also my laptop. Can someone please help me? Thank you very much in advance.
