VLC 3.0.3 >> Disable Auto Open/Expand Media Library folders/playlists

I got an update today from I think 2.26, to 3.0.
Problem: When VLC Starts, it automatically opens folders and playlists inside the Media Library, converting them from single items to folders containing sub-items.
Goal: I want to disable this, so that I have to manually open them, otherwise they stay as single items (not folders)
Story:
When I opened VLC, all my items in the Media Library were expanded.
I keep them closed, so I can add the folders to the playlist and have any new files/changes added automatically without having to re-add the folder manually.
I figured they were opened due to the update, so I re-added some playlists and files and re-opened vlc but they were reopened again, so I figure maybe VLC keeps the folder/playlist bookmarked and autoloads it at start, so I don't have to manually expand the list.
Nope, it simply opens the playlist/folder, then removes the playlist-directory, meaning if I want to refresh their contents, I have to manually re-add them.
Note: I tried 2.28 /3.0. 0/1/2/3. 2.28 works, so this only happens in 3.0 series.
Is there a fix, this is a feature request, or do I have to stay with 2.x?
