VLC 3.0.2 - Blue bars in full screen?

The long-time traditional hollow white skip bar and solid white volume bar are now blue.

Was this by design, because the former blocks subtitles and feels distracting and the latter just looks off not following with the universal white theme of all other information elements.

Is there a way to change it back to version 2's style or remove the bars (without removing all other text indicators visible in both windowed and full screen mode?)

Hi,

You can disable the On Screen Display (OSD, ie. volume & position indications, along with pretty much all keyboard shortcut feedback) by going to Preferences -> Subtitles / OSD -> Untick "Enable On Screen Display (OSD)"

About changing the color, that isn't possible for now, but please feel free to open a feature request on https://trac.videolan.org/vlc !

I have the same problem. The blue bar is very annoying.

The proposed solution does not solve the problem. If I disable OCD, all information is disabled, such as subtitle name (the name of the file), volume information, time in the upper right corner, and so on.

I would like to disable the blue bar, nothing else. I like to disable the way to big blue bar that shows the volume, but I want to keep the percentage of nomber in the top right corner.

Same here. The blue bars are way to prominent. Please add an option to get the old one back on demand in the next version.

It's not planned to remove it afaik, but no ticket has been open on https://trac.videolan.org/vlc
You might want to open one for customization feature of this color.

İf you are still have this problem, u can use this ticket for an option. https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/22574#no1 . There is a comment by Taylan u can follow his steps.

"A workaround I use is changing the hotkeys for the most common jump duration I use (among very short, short, medium or long jump).
Using Navigate right instead of one of the jump hotkeys doesn't show the blue bar and it uses the Short jump length. Modify it to your needs.
My settings as an example:"

It can be usefull.
