Missing Audio

I have recently converted a whole heap of .TS files to MP4 format. I used the "Video for MPEG4 720p TV/Device" option, and playing back the first few via VLC they all looked OK.
I have since discovered that when played via other players and on various TVs that the audio is missing. One TV reported "No audio channel on this file".
All these new MP4 files do have the audio content because they play back fine through VLC. There must be some flag in the meta data or file header that is incompatible with non-VLC players.
I have used 3 PCs and 3 different versions of VLC and the problem is the same on all converted files.
Does anyone understand this problem, and how to rectify it? Most of the original TS files have been deleted, so this is now a one way street.

Yes, I can reproduce this with VLC 3.0.2.
According to MediaInfo the audio is in the file but no player can play it.

You should create a new ticket on the VLC Trac with the link to this thread.

I'm seeing a very similar thing when recording network streams. Audio from the stream plays fine but it does not record. I'm running Win64 version and It looks like a regression in 3.0. Everything works fine in 2.2.6.
I searched and could not find a ticket so I'll open a new ticket and link to this thread.
Give 2.2.x a try and see if that gets you going again.
