Music CD - Artist and Titles incorrect

I inserted a store bought music CD into my cd player, opened VLC and went to Media, Open Disc, Audio CD. The CD loads and starts playing, however, the Artist and Titles that VLC shows for this cd are incorrect.

The audio cd is "Rod Stewart - A Night on the Town". But the data that shows up in the VLC Playlist window is "Zombie Girl - Blood Brains Rock 'n' roll". I have never heard of that group in my life!

If I open another app like iTunes, the album artist and titles show correctly for this cd.

How do I go about correcting the artist & titles that VLC shows? What process does VLC go thru to poll the cd and then retrieve and display the correct titles for a music cd?

This issue comes quite often... I wonder what we're doing wrong...

Someone should wireshark and compare with iTunes..

That's a genuine CD, not a "burned" from some mp3 one, right ?

Correct not mp3 but original Warner Brothers audio CD.
