Fast Forwarding

I recently had to reset my laptop and reinstall everything, when I went to watch a movie on VLC and tried using the mouse wheel down on the movies progress bar it would only skip like 2 seconds, does anyone know how to increase it, I know how to make it go faster using other keys, but not the way I'm used to
