My VLC media player software was updated a recently. It's now 3.0.0 jenkins@37e6332467f2 Feb 9 2018 18:54:28.
Even with help I'm probably not tech savvy enough to fix the problem; so I'm hoping someone is or someone will work on an update to fix the problems I've started to have. The problems are irritating but manageable and tolerable for the time being.
When trying to play DVD video files from a DVD or ones that have been ripped to a hard drive; sometimes there is a glitch with the sound.
1: Sometimes the sound drops out altogether, this seems to mainly happen when there is more than one movie or episode divided onto the DVD; so when it auto plays to the next movie or episode the sound drops out. If I go back to an earlier point in the video, the sound is usually restored.
2: Sometimes the sound glitches during a video. The sound glitch seems to happen sometimes during scene changes. The sound sounds like a very short repeating compression artifact. The video keeps working fine, but the sound seems to be stuck in an artifact compression repeating glitch.
3: After the last update there also seems to be more video artifacts. Horizontal lines of missing or altered video at the bottom of the viewscreen.
I apologize for not being savvy enough to know the correct jargon. So I'm improvising the language to try to describe the problems the best I can.
My system is Windows 10 pro 64-bit
version 1709
OS build 16299.251
Thanks.
