Web Plugin hotkeys not working - only new version 2.2.8

VLC media player Web Plugin 2.2.4 it was working perfectly , with the space bar as play / pause hotkey. But now it does not work with the new version 2.2.8. Then I go back to version 2.2.4 and it works again.
