Fixing spelling mistakes in soft-subtitles

Hi all,

I have been looking for a way to fix spelling mistakes in soft subtitles. I have a tv show that has about every 10 words missing the space between so I wanted to correct them so it is easy to view them.

I have found editors online but they only correct the colour, size, font etc but not the actual spelling itself.

Would you know how I can do this?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Lotesdelere, I had a look at the links you gave us, but both of these programs deal directly with subtitle files (eg .srt files), but the soft-subtitles I refer to are those found as a stream inside the movie file itself.

If the subtitles are embedded into the video stream then there is nothing you can do.

Check the file with MediaInfo tool or just in VLC: Tools > Codec Information Ctrl+J
You need to demux the subtitle stream into a subtitle file, then edit the file in a subtitle editor, then mux the streams back into a multimadia container.
