Display location with rc interface: option --rc-show-pos does not work any more?

I am trying to use the rc interface, while on the same time I need to get some playback information, like the elapsed time.
I was trying to use the option --rc-show-pos but, although it is recognised, I don't see any visible output, either on the console or on the debug output.

How can I do this?
Is there any way also to find out how much the subtitle offset is?
