Metadata manually input but still doesn't show on playing

I have been ripping some of my old compilation CDs (scratches, blemished, etc.) into wave files. I then put all of the metadata into each file including, title, artist, label, label #, CD title, year CD created and month and year of copyright. All of the metadata is there when I go to look at the file with VLC player, however when I play the music, it shows nothing but the song title, the rest of the information (artist, CD title, etc) is blank. What do I have to do to get the metadata to be read when the music is playing. It doesn't make any difference if I place the files onto a CD with the metadata already input or if I just play the music off the hard drive (no data appears) Any assistance please? Thank you very much.

I have ripped to wav format. I use Windows 10 but not sure it is a Windows issue so I place it here in this category.

I'm not sure VLC can properly tag WAV files and I'm not sure Windows 10 can read tags from WAV files.
I will make tests next week as I'm on travel ATM.
