Hello everybody,
I have stored on external hard drives purchased several tutorial series in mp4 format. Today I realized with horror that these files are not displayed normally with the latest two VLC player versions on video. It's just a sound place and the initial image, but no follow-images = no video (which are there but, since thus the manipulations are explained), so that approximately 2 TB purchased and downloaded tutorials are worthless at a stroke - clearly there converter, but as you sit even months, to conversions, to convert movie for film in eg mov. Also a reset of settings and a complete dismantling and reinstallation of the VLC player did not changed this fact. I use Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit.
I have not the time for convert all stored mp4 files only for playing with VLC (version 2.2.5.1-win32.exe). With the original VLC Player version such as vlc-2.0.8-win64.exe Although these mp4 files work correctly in sound and images; just let me - also in relation to viruses etc. have no outdated programs on my computer. What can I do?
The german VLC Forum couldn't help me with this problem.
Clear the solution of the other player is the easiest. However, I had always used the VLC player for all my films and it went perfectly until the last two versions update! That's why I posted this case here - in the hope that the developers of VLC player might find a solution and take this into account in their next update.
I would in fact like to use again one player for all moving pictures and not back and herprobieren which file is with which players well displayed correctly.
I think it's great that this player is free provided - but something has changed in the last two versions so that the visual "remains on track" by older mp4 files and it would be nice if the developers even this slight drawback still would get a grip.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.
Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts (use the default ones) and then post the link to the file here.
If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

And with all others players I can display these video tutorials, only the VLC doesn't work since the last 2 updates. The last VLC Version which works on my system is the file 2.0.8-win64.exe
