How many audio tracks in a video can VLC play/recognize?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

How many audio tracks in a video can VLC play/recognize?

Postby mtemp » 05 Apr 2017 12:00

Hi,

I have a MOV video file with 6 audio tracks as I can see opening it with Adobe Premiere.
In VLC (Windows) the audio menu shows only 4 of them.

VLC is limited to 4 tracks?

And: is it possible to show the audio tracks in a separate window? Or only accessible in the menu?

Thanks!

It should work.

Please upload a short sample of a problematic file to either Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts (use the default ones) and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

50 MB max should be enough.
