On screen display and next file hotkeys

Postby Tokega » 23 Mar 2017 13:24

Hi all!

I recently switched from Gom Player(which was acting up and lagging a LOT when downloading onto an HD which I also was trying to play video from) to VLC and I like it.

BUT I am missing some features though. In GOM I was able to push TAB and get an OSD that told me file name, how long the video was, what was left and the number in a sequence of files.
Is such a thing possible in VLC? I tried looking at mods and addons but was unable to find anything like that.

I also would like to know why VLC is NOT switched to automatically if I open a video file?

And one last thing: Queues for files? Why is there no hotkeys for "next file"? Example: I am watching SeinfeldS01E01.mkv from the folder Seinfeld Season 01. The other files in the same folder are named like the first one. Why does VLC not recognize this and let me go to the next file with a button press?

I apologize if I used the wrong forum. If I did, please direct me to the right place.

Many kind regards, Tokega
