Viewing metadata in playlist

Hello,
I normally use winamp, but vlc has many features that winamp doesn't, and I'm also buying a mac soon, so I need a decent media player that can play Ogg, FLAC, etc... Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to show my files' meta-info such as the artist, song name, album, etc.. on the playlist instead of just the filename. This is one thing that Winamp seems to have, but I can't figure out in VLC. How could I do this in VLC?

Open the playlist, you should see your files.
A right-click on a file, select "Info". Be sure selecting only one file.
You get a new window, called "Playlist item info"
