How to make 360 youtube videos compatible with vlc 360 ?

Hello, I've downloaded several 360 videos in mp4 from youtube and I'm unable to have it recognized as a 360 video by vlc360: they are displayed as a normal deformed video and you can't change point of view with arrow keys such as in eagle360 demo video.
It's the same with the video and images I've captured with my Pano View XDV 360 camera (tried with several output shapes without success).
I guess it's not encoded as expected for vlc360 but where can I find info and tools to make it compatible ?

Thanks for any help.

For other who may like to know, I was able to get a YouTube 360 video I downloaded to work with VLC 3.0 by using a tool called Spatial Media Metadata Injector. I opened the video with the app, then picked "My video i spherical (360) and saved the video. It then worked in VLC.
