:) I think you are doing a fantastic job - the best player of them all.
But couldnĀ“t the interface be a little more exciting? :)

First of all, have you tried the skinned interface rather than the simple wxWidgets one?

Second of all, when you are watching a video, do you look at the video player's interface, or are you watching the video?

The best thing about VLC is its ability to take a video stream from almost any source and send it to almost any destination. Other projects make players. Other project make transcoders. Other projects make network video streamers. VLC will do it all.

So sure, a presentable interface is nice. But (and with no offense) the absolute last thing I would like to see development time spent on is eye candy. The eye candy can come later. :)

I totally agree on the critism. I think a touch on the gui would be great. I made a sketch on something as easy as the about dialog on viewtopic.php?t=14030.

The user experience with the media player should be more in focus. E.g. I use it as music player to. On that part there could happen several improvements on the playlist which I think is needed. Something as basic as the possibility to change mp3 tags.

Another issue is the settings dialog which is extremely complicated (and I haven't clicked on advanced yet ;-)) I could list my view on how/which settings should be available for ordinary users, but doen't know if it is necessary.
