Hi I've recently had to revert to xp as win 7 was causing too many problems. Since reverting Vlc will start off playing sound but if I skip or move later in the video sound stops. I've just experimented by skipping forward and eventually the audio starts again (after minutes that is) but it never used to be this way. Any advice?

Try another audio output module:

If it doesn't help then try to reset the preferences:
