Cannot open video from network

Hello All,
I am new to this forum. Pardon me for some silly questions.
I have emrlab Stare HD 3hd camera. It provides me 3d video hdmi output which I want to view using VLC media player.
I have connected my camera to hdmi to ethernet converter and that ethernet is connected to my pc (linux machine), say on port eth0 whose ip address is 192.168.1.1
Now I want to watch this video on vlc so I tried open network file and i typed in http://192.168.1.1:8080

But when I hit play, it just opens the url momentarily and it closes. The video is not visible even for a second.

Can someone help me with the setup?
