Question about privacy policy and "allow metadata network access"

Hello.

I have one question about feature "allow metadata network access".

I know that when it is enabled VLC can send some metadata in order to recognize my media (for example mp3-tags).
But what about directly CONTENT? Can VLC automatically send the parts of my media files to remote servers without my knowledge if I enable this feature (for example, take screenshots of my videos or cut part of my music and then send them)?
It is understood that stream is disabled and I use default settings of VLC with "allow metadata network access" feature.

Thank you for advance.

Nope. This is only for fetching metadata based on the filename and file tags.

The question draws a nonexistent line. Obviously VLC needs to send some infos about the played media to the third party on-line service(s). It might be from the file name or it might be from the content of file; it has to come from somewhere.

Are you implying only meta information? I have not understood completely.

Yes.

Okay, thank you for your answer!

Also I'd would like to know about embedded covers in video/audio files. I know that mp3 covers are metadata. Some video formats can store cover "inside themselves" too.
Does VLC send covers (album arts) to the third party on-line service(s) for video/audio recognition, or send ONLY "text" tags?
If VLC send them (covers), how online services identify media files? Like google's search by image?

Thank you for advance.

As I understood, VLC sends metadata information in order to find exactly album art, and if album art already exists (embeded in file metadata or in cache) VLC has no need to send metadata. Respectively VLC doesn't send album arts and only uploads them if required. Am I right?
