Advanced Audio settings for unfiltered playback

Hey,

Simple one. I need to remove any compression and filtering for audio source. Basically I want the to be left untouched if possible. I'm not clued up on what dolby, resampling, etc do to the audio and how they impact it.

Does anyone have a list of audio settings to achieve this? It may be as simple as turning them all off but wanted to confirm I wasn't turning stuff off that was needed, or selecting the wrong codec directx, etc.

Thanks for your help!

With default settings, VLC only performs minimum changes in the first place. Specifically, it only resamples, remixes and/or converts to adjust the input to your system's output capabilities, if they so require.

Thanks Remi,

So if I play a WAV or Flac the audio will remain untouched on the output, or is that dependant on the soundcard (system output)?

It depends on the OS, OS settings, sound card driver and sound card.

So VLC will change its setting based on the OS, soundcard and driver - does VLC have settings to control these changes?
