[OSX ] VLC 0.6.2 & Mac OSX 10.1.3

Postby jursamaj » 30 Nov 2003 06:29

I received several reccomendations that VLC would play many movie files I otherwise have trouble with. So I went to VersionTracker.com, and it says 0.6.0 works with OSX 10.1. I downloaded the .dmg and dragged VLC to my Applications folder as suggested. When I run it, it promptly produces an "Application has unexpectedly quit" dialog. No version of VLC has been run on this machine before, and no pref files get created. An I missing something somewhere that says VLC requires more than OSX 10.1? Or am I just missing something?

I think 10.1.5 is the oldest supported version

Man you seriously need to update. to 10.1.5 at the very least indeed.

Actually, I use 10.1.3. I have 10.2.6 disks, but I only have 1.7 gig available. Not sure I have room to install.

Subject is moot

I upgraded to 10.2.6. VLC now works. But it would be nice if this info were documented somewhere.
