3D anaglyth

G'day , I have a pair of red and blue anaglyth 3D glasses, Im trying to watch 3D movies but the picture is out of focus or something?? I have changed the setting to 3d , but Im using VLC 2.2.1 and it doesn't have the option to change the colour scheme, in all the instructional videos they are using VLC 2.1.0, and that has a setting for "red and blue" and others... anyone have a solution??
