Soft subs different to DVD subs

[Amaterasu]

So i've been trying to rip a DVD to Computer but want the converted file to have Softsubs.
Doing Hardsubs using the overlay option is fine and everything is the same as the DVD.

But if i create a Softsubs version (un-checking the overlay option) from the DVD rip. The subs come out a different colour and in a different location.

Example
DVD - subs are yellow and at the bottom
Hardsubs Converted File - same as DVD
Softsubs Converted File - subs are blue and at the top/middle of screen

Any ideas guys?
