Is there a way to disable only the Volume Bar part of the OSD?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Is there a way to disable only the Volume Bar part of the OSD?

So, I was messing around with VLC today, trying to customize it and so on...

Is there a way to disable the OSD volume bar without disabling the rest of the OSD? I mean, there's already a display above it telling the % of the volume and the bar doesn't even go over 100%, it feels like it's just taking up space and it's so big it's distracting, you can't even change it's size.

The rest of the OSD is fine, it tells what's happening or what I've done if I press something wrong, but that volume bar feels like I'm wearing two watches...
