Displaying current song in vlc's title

Equivalent to this issue: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=108976 didn't want to necro.
I need VLC to output song titles to its title bar. When using VLC's native skin, it works perfectly fine, but when I use a skin, the title isn't displayed anymore.
According to the (very old) thread, this issue should have been fixed, I'm still experiencing the issue however.
Does anybody know more about this?
