DVD runs for few minutes, crashes saying "video is not needed"

Postby erids » 29 Jan 2016 18:46

I have this DVD that I bought from Amazon's CreateSpace program. It loaded normally on VLC and I pressed play for the first of 4 episodes. It ran smoothly for about 3 minutes, then went blank with no warning, just displaying the traffic cone logo. I opened up the messages and about that time it began to say "video is not needed" despite having buffered completely. This happened 3 times in a row.
After this went on 3 times, the next time I tried to load it, VLC said it is unable to open the file. The DVD is not corrupted; it works perfectly on any DVD player. The codecs seem to be in line as well, and I have the most recent version of VLC.
I was just wondering what else I should try. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
