Video as Wallpaper not working

I have Windows 10. I have Directx video output chosen in the preferences. when i right-click the video screen i see "enable wallpaper" but not "enable Directx wallpaper". the only thing that shows up when i enable the choice given is an entire pink background, the video does not play as a wallpaper. can you help me figure out how to solve this problem?
