Convert/Save After Adjusting Image Properties

Hi

I am using VLC version 2.2.1 and have a problem while converting videos.

I took a 10 min video (720p:30fps) and clipped it into 10 different files (by using the record button method). After adjusting brightness, contrast, speed etc I tried to convert and save it with the following profile (basically a pre-built profile):

Encapsulation = MP4/MOV
Video Codec = H-264, Bit rate and Quality Not used, Frame rate same as source.
Audio Codec = MPEG Audio, 128kb/s, Channel 2, Sample rate 44100

Using the same method and settings for all files I am able to successfully convert and save some files but not all of them. For some files the conversion process takes just a few seconds i.e. the blue time scale moves very quickly to the end and the new file is created but it doesn't work. e.g. if the original file was 2 MB this new faulty one is just like 27 KB (so obviously it wont work).

I've tried many combinations of video codec settings but no success (I dont really know much of the video editing basics as its my first time)

Can some one tell whats going wrong? Why am i able to convert and save some files but not all of them, considering that I am using the same settings for all.

Note: I am using windows vista (if that's important to know)

Thanks
