Media > Open Recent Media > Clear
or one entry by editing the storage file manually (Windows: "%appdata%\vlc\vlc-qt-interface.ini").

Thanks, @mederi, but in VLC 2.1.6 there's not "Clear" for Media/Open File/recently used.
Would you please tell me what is the Ubuntu equivalent for "%appdata%\vlc\vlc-qt-interface.ini"?
